William Lewis Barnes

He served in the US Air Force and was stationed at the Air Force Base in Chicksands, UK. William was a real estate agent for ERA and then Century 21. He retired from the Evansville Police Department. William formed the Lorraine Pool Neighborhood Association Booster Club. He was a member of the River City Golf Club, the Hole in 1 Club, and the FOP. He was an outstanding brother and loved his job.

William is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Levander Herman and Alvin Eugene Barnes: and nephew, Nicholas Barnes.

He is survived by his son, Simon Barnes; step grandchild, Amber Dawn Lazo; step great-grandchildren, Breana, Taryn, and Avery; sisters, Linda Baker, Deborah (Virgil) Turner; brothers, Richard Barnes, Donald Barnes; lifelong companion and friend, June Barnes; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held 1:00 PM Monday, November 27, 2017, at Alexander East Chapel, 2115 Lincoln Avenue, Evansville, IN, officiated by Pastor Earl Carter. Friends may visit 2-6 PM Sunday, at the Funeral Home.
