

He was a 1953 graduate of Reitz High School and a member of the National Guard. William coached both boys and girls baseball and softball; Cub League for boys and Rural Softball League for girls. He was district advisor for the Courier Press where he helped manage paper route carriers. He worked at Alcoa for 23 years, and after retirement he owned and managed rental property.
William was preceded in death by two brothers and three sisters.
He is survived by his wife, Irene (Frantz) Chandley; children, Debra Hagenseiker, Daniel W. Chandley, Darryl R. (Lisa) Chandley, Diana L. (Michael) Julian, Naomi S. (James) Barr, James R. (Dana) Frantz and John F. Frantz; 13 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; sister Grace (Richard) Fisher; brother Myron “Gene” (Pauline) Chandley; sister, Rosemary (Tom) Welte; brother-in-law, Franklin Capps, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be 11:00AM, Friday, November 25, 2016, at Alexander North Chapel, 4200 Stringtown Road, officiated by Elmer Meredith, with burial in Blue Grass Cemetery. Friends may visit 2:00PM to 6:00PM, Wednesday, November 23, 2016, at the funeral home.
