William "Guy" G. Satterfield, Jr.

William “Guy” G. Satterfield, Jr., 84, of Evansville, passed away Friday, October 4, 2013. He was born in Drakesboro, KY on June 4, 1929. Guy was a devoted husband and loving father. He enjoyed playing golf, bowling and always a good game of cards, especially, Clabber, Pinochle or Hand and Foot. As many may or may not know, he was also a talented piano player. He could not read music, but could play just about any song, turning it into a "boogie-woogie" tune. He was preceded in death by his wife of over 50 years, Marjorie Ann (Hodge) Satterfield, who passed away August 10, 2009; his son, Michael Wayne Satterfield; sister, Rowena Travis; and his parents, William Guy and William Callie Satterfield. Guy is survived by daughters, Cathy L. Houchin and spouse, Nick, of Newburgh, Linda S. Smith of Evansville and Louanne Ward and spouse, Fred, of Evansville; daughter-in-law, Rhonda Satterfield of Evansville; sister, Sybil Seiler of Newburgh; grandchildren, Angela Reising, Christopher Staley, Jay Ward, Bradley Smith, Kevin Smith, Layla Satterfield, Jeana Cleggs and Melanie Doty; 17 great-grandchildren: and nephew David Travis. Private services will be held.
