William was in the U.S. Navy from 1959-1963. He was a member of the American Legion Pate Post #265, AMVETS Post #1, River Bend Association, Twin Towers, River City Eagles #4023, Germania Maennerchor, and the Navy Reunion-U.S.S. Ashtabula Ao-51.
He enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, and NASCAR.
William is survived by his son, William M. Houghland (Chris); daughter, Michelle Marie DeCorrevont (Kit); son, Joseph Alan Houghland; brother, David Houghland (Kelly); 7 grandchildren; and 3 great-grandchildren; and 2 nephews.
The family would like to thank the staff at Vista Care Hospice, especially Lisa Smith and Ellen.
Services will be 1:00 PM Monday, January 10, 2011, at Alexander West Chapel, officiated by Fr. Ted Tempel with entombment at Alexander Memorial Park. Friends may visit Monday from 10:00 AM until service time at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Vista Care Hospice.
