William “Bill” C. Sander, 96, passed away Tuesday, February 15, 2022, at Gateway Hospital. He was born on July 25, 1925, in Evansville, to the late Carl L. and Jennie E. (Griffin) Sander. Until her passing on January 11, 2017, Bill was married to Dorothy “Dot” (Criswell) on December 18, 1949 at Old North United Methodist Church. They were high school sweethearts. Bill was passionate about motorcycles, and he spent most of his spare time riding, often accompanied by Dot. He was a devoted family man with a wonderful personality. During his final years, Bill found great pleasure from time shared with his beloved cat Britty.
Bill and Dot were preceded in death by their son, Phillip W., who passed in 1981, and daughter, Julie A. (Sander) McManis, who passed in 2014. He is survived by his granddaughter Kelly L. McManis.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday February 23, 2022 at Alexander Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel. Friends may visit from 10:00 a.m. until service time.
