

Bill was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. Bill was known for his strong work ethic which started in adolescence to help provide for his family. He was a member of the Society of Manufacturing Engineers, spending most of his career at Delux Industries. Bill was a member of the Hadi Shrine Motor Corp Unit, Masonic Lodge 64, Scottish Rite, and was a Kentucky Colonel. Bill was a founder and charter member of the River City Harley Owners Group. He and his wife Phyllis toured throughout the United States and Provinces of Canada on their motorcycles. He was also a member of All Saints Catholic Church.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, William Sr. and Betty Simmons, his brother, Terry Simmons, and niece Tera Simmons.
He is survived by his devoted and loving wife of 57 years, Phyllis Morton Simmons, his daughter Stephanie Simmons Willis, son-in-law, Scott Willis, his grandson, Remington Willis, his sister, Deborah Simmons, sisters-in-law Donna Husk-Gander and Sheila Morton, his nephews, Danny Ray Simmons, Timothy Morton, and niece Sigourney Neeley. As well as his brothers in the Hadi Shrine Temple.
The family would like to thank the office of Dr. Robert Rusche for his many years of compassionate care. Also, a special thanks to Gentiva Hospice for making him comfortable during his remaining time before his passing.
Visitation will be on Friday, May 2, 2025 at Alexander West Chapel from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. A Hadi Shrine walkthrough will take place at 5:45 p.m. followed by a Masonic service at 6:00 p.m. A private funeral service, officiated by Fr. Steve Lintzenich, and entombment in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery will held at a later date.
In Lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Evansville Rescue Mission in honor of Bill where he spent many happy days playing with the other children in his youth.
