

William “Bill” E. Villines, 88, of Evansville, went to be with his Lord and Savior on February 10, 2015. He was surrounded by family. He was born July 4, 1926, in Liberty, KY to the late William and Grady (Winebarger) Villines.
He began his career as a Tool and Die Maker at International Steel and continued his career as a Tool Engineer at Benerson/General Electric. He served as president of the Society of Manufacturing Engineers. He was an active member of Salem United Church of Christ Heusler in Posey County, where he served on the council and cemetery boards, taught Sunday School, sang in the choir, and served on various committees. He was awarded the honor of Deacon for his service and faithfulness to the Lord. Bill loved to hunt, fish, go to yard sales, and garden. When he was 70, he took guitar lessons and enjoyed many hours of playing music.
Bill was preceded in death in 2010 by his wife, Velma June Bradley, whom he married on November 17, 1945; brother, Rice Villines; sisters, Ethlyn Kramer and Louise Harris; and his parents.
He is survived by his son, William W. (Kaye) Villines; daughters, Diana (Laval) Emmerson, Brenda (Dave) Bohannon and Peggy Hamilton; grandson, Chris Villines, whom he raised; grandchildren, Cindy Staples (Dave Osborne), Greg (Julie) Villines, Tami (Kevin) Wilke, Steven Villines, Rev. Jason Emmerson, Jennifer (Mark) Kemper, John Hoyt, Jeff (Leslie) Hoyt; great-granddaughter, Jamie Villines, whom he also raised; sister, Sue (Roy) Hale; brother, Charles (Ann) Villines; and 17 great-grandchildren.
The family would like to thank Deaconess VNA Hospice for their compassionate care of our dad, brother and grandpa.
Funeral services will be held 12:00 PM Monday, February16, 2015, at Salem United Church of Christ Heusler in Posey County, 11325 Lower Mount Vernon Rd, Evansville, IN 47712, officiated by Pastors Al Schmitz and Rev. Jason Emmerson, with burial in Salem United Church of Christ Heusler Cemetery. Friends may visit Monday from 10:00 AM until service time at the church.
