
Daniel Lee Burgess, 69, of Everett, passed away on September 3, 2010 in Everett. He was born on May 17, 1941 in Decota, West Virginia to Frank and Pearl Burgess. He attended East Bank High in West Virginia and Edmonds and Everett Community Colleges, where he received an Associate of Technical Arts in both Professional and Business Management. He served in the Air Force from 1959 to 1965 before working at General Telephone for 30 years, retiring in 1994 as a telecommunications supervisor.
He was active in the Knights of Columbus and Lions Club. He enjoyed coaching his sons in baseball, and basketball, playing racketball, fishing, gardening, decorating for Halloween and Christmas, going on family vacations to Hawaii and Disneyland, poetry, collecting music and photography. Dan enjoyed walking the dogs, being a husband, father and grandfather.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Nancy, of Everett; daughters, Tammy M. Burgess and Sheri L. Burgess-Shaw; sons, Tony Burgess and Tim Burgess; grandchildren, Alisha, Austin, Andrew, Lindsey, Ashlyn, Collin, Kevin, Quentin, Kenzie and Olivia; and sister, Frankie Wright.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, George, Agnes and Wilma; and grandson, Cameron.
There will be a Funeral on Monday, September 13, 2010 at 1:00 at Purdy and Walters with Cassidy Funeral Home. Private Entombment will be at Cypress Lawn Memorial Park.
