

Delores Helen Bowman, born Delores Helen Roberts, died peacefully on May 23, 2012 at the age of 87, surrounded by her children. Delores was born in Minneapolis in 1924, the second of five children. She was a graduate of Patrick Henry High School in Minneapolis and the University of Minnesota. Delores had lived in Mukilteo, Washington since 1990.
She married Robert L. Bowman of Lewistown, Montana in 1953, and together they had seven children. A military couple, Bob and Dee raised their family on numerous air force bases, including Clark AFB, Philippines; Langley AFB, Virginia; Ellsworth AFB, South Dakota; and Malmstrom AFB, Montana.
Delores taught elementary school for over 30 years, helping generations of young children learn to read. She was active in her community and loved to travel, enjoying many trips across the country and around the world. Delores was a devout Roman Catholic and a generous contributor to many charitable causes. She enjoyed swimming, bridge, Scrabble, and her daily crossword puzzle. Above all, she enjoyed spending time with her extended family. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.
Delores was preceded in death by her husband, her daughter Kathleen Bowman, her grandson Robert Wagner, as well as sisters Catherine Johnson and Shirley Barich and brothers Frank Roberts and Michael Roberts. Delores is survived by her daughter Roberta (Steven) Denning of Greenwich, Connecticut; daughter Teresa (Mark) Gilberg of Phoenix, Arizona; daughter Patricia Bowman of Seattle, Washington; son Timothy Bowman of Mukilteo, Washington; son James (Katherine) Bowman of Brier, Washington; and daughter Barbara (Carl) Wagner of Dallas, Texas. Delores is survived by eight grandchildren: Robert Denning, Carrie Denning, Grace Gilberg, Sarah Bowman, Rebecca Bowman, JacobWagner, Daniel Wagner, and James Wagner. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
The Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00am on Tuesday, June 5, 2012 at St. Mary Magdalen Church in Everett, Washington. Delores will be buried at Fort Snelling National Cemetery, Minneapolis, Minnesota, joining her husband.
