

28, 2011. Dorothy was born in Everett, WA on December 30, 1920 to Abe
and Lucie Glassberg. Abe was well-known around Everett and the editor
of The Everett Herald for many years. Dorothy grew up in Everett and
was baptized and confirmed at Trinity Episcopal Church, Everett. As a
young woman, Dorothy was active in Rainbow, she lettered in intramural
sports at Everett High School and traveled with the debate team in her
senior year.
Dorothy attended Reed College in Portland, OR where she met her
husband Morris Wakefield (Hutch) Hutchison. They married upon Morris'
return from overseas military duty on December 26, 1944 at Trinity
Episcopal Church, Everett. Before returning to Everett in 1949, Morris
and Dorothy spent time in Texas and Boise, Idaho. Morris embarked on a
teaching career in Fife, Washington and soon afterward the couple
returned to Everett where Morris taught photography and later biology
and chemistry at Everett High School. At that time, the couple renewed
their activity in Trinity Episcopal Church. Careers again took them
away from Everett to Ocean City Washington and then Silverdale,
Washington during the 70's. Dorothy became the manager of the American
Red Cross chapter in Bremerton, WA in 1971 and moved to the manager's
position of the Snohomish-Island Counties Red Cross chapter in 1974.
After returning again to their beloved Everett, Dorothy and Hutch
continued their activity at Trinity Episcopal and were involved in
many community, church and social activities. For a number of years,
Dorothy organized and led Trinity bus tours for the church and
friends.
Dorothy leaves behind Hutch, her loving husband of 67 years their son,
Coe of Port Townsend and grandsons, David and Steven Hutchison of
Seattle and Everett. Dorothy and Hutch lost a daughter, Susan to
Hodgkin's Disease in 1971. Dorothy was deeply loved by family and
friends alike. Arrangements under the direction of
