Georgia Lee Elliott

Georgia was born in Adams County, one of four daughters of John and Edith Kappel. She attended school in Ritzville, WA, graduating from Ritzville High in 1950. She graduated summa cum laude at age 20 from Eastern Washington University with a Bachelor of Arts in Education. She taught in the Seattle School District and would later work for years in the financial services industry.

Georgia married another Adams County resident, Verlin Elliott, in 1952. They moved to Everett in 1958 where they lived for 52 years.

Georgia was known by all for her kindness, gentleness, and keen intelligence. She had an excellent sense of humor and an infinite capacity for helping others. She dearly loved her children's friends from Everett High School and the Universities of Washington and Virginia. Georgia enjoyed studying current affairs and politics. She was an avid jewelry collector and frequently received favorable comments about her fashion sense and beautiful appearance.

Georgia and her granddaughter, Ashleigh, are the authors of two children's books.

She was preceded in eternal rest by her sister, Aloma Bischoff.

She is survived by her husband, Verlin; and her sisters, Jacqueline Garrison, of Moses Lake, WA, and Claudia Bushbaum, of Seattle, WA; her daughter and son-in-law, Jane and Leigh Curry, of West Trenton, NJ; her son and daughter-in-law, Reid and Pam Elliott; beloved granddaughters, Arleigh, Ashleigh and Gracie.

Georgia's family would like to thank all the many friends who participated in a tremendous outpouring of love and support during Georgia's illness. The family would also like to thank Bethany at Providence staff Lisa, Andrew, Brandon and all of the other medical professionals who provided exceptional care to Georgia and the family during this trying time.

In honor of Georgia's request, private services will be held. Interment at Evergreen Cemetery, Everett, WA.
