Gifford John Rufer

Born March 30, 1940, Gifford graduated from Everett High School in 1958 and joined the United States Navy that same year. After receiving an honorable discharge in 1962; he found his way back to Everett and married Linda (Barlow) Rufer in 1968.

Gifford worked as an electrician at PUD and retired in 1992 after 22 years of service. He was a proud member of the local IBEW.

Early in retirement Gifford was avid golfer and looked forward to the annual tournament in Alta Lake. He loved to travel and visit family. He took many cross country road trips in his motorhome over the years, but chose to stay home after the grandkids arrived; he didn’t want to miss a minute with them.

Gifford was a loving father and grandfather and he will truly be missed by us all.

Gifford is preceded in death by his late wife Linda.

Gifford is survived by his son Leonard and his family, and his sisters Colleen Nanney and Gloria Tirey, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

A celebration of Gifford’s life will be held on Friday, August 5, 2011 at 11am at Purdy & Walters with Cassidy, 1702 Pacific Ave., Everett, 425-252-2191.
