

Lawrence M. Neilsen, born October 8, 1919 in Everett, WA to Hans and Vivian Neilsen, passed away on March 26, 2012 in Everett, WA. Lawrence graduated from Everett High School, Class of 1937, and later served his country in the US Army. He worked for many years at Everett Pulp and Paper Mill, which later became Simpson Lee. He enjoyed square and ballroom dancing, playing baseball, bowling, and running. He also enjoyed fishing, playing card games, gardening and growing fuschia baskets, going to the casino once a week, and spending time with his family and friends at the cabin at Lake Goodwin. Lawrence was a member of the American Legion and Eagles clubs in Snohomish. He is survived by his loving wife of 69 years, Peggy, daughters Joanne Wood (Jerry) of Grapeview, Jackie Young (Dick) of Stanwood, Merilyn Parsons (Russ) of Everett, sister Lola Walmer of Citrus Heights, CA, 13 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and 1 great great- granddaughter. He was preceded in death by his sister, Lois Hatfield. A funeral service celebrating Lawrence’s life will be held on Monday, April 2, 2012 at 1:00 at Memorial Community Church, 710 Pecks Drive, Everett.
