In the early afternoon of May 26, 2016, Lucita "Lucy" Biddlecome passed away in the company of family and friends at Providence Hospital, succumbing to the affects of cardiac arrest. She was 67 years old and was very much loved.
Lucy was born on October 19, 1948 in Pandacan, Phiippines. She was the eldest of four children of Marcial and Adoracion Alano and enjoyed a humble and happy childhood with a loving and tight knit family. She was vibrant and brilliant and beautiful.
Lucy graduated from St. Joseph High School in Manila and soon afterwards met and married her first husband. In 1969, Lucy had her first child. Shortly thereafter, they emigrated to Iwakuni, Japan where her other two children were born. After spending 5 years in japan, raising her new family, she continued her life journey by moving to the United States of America, initially settling at Payne Field naval air station.
There, she found her first job, working in a production line at Jansport clothing company. She loved working. One of her proudest moments was finding that first job and earning that first paycheck (with which, undoubtedly, she did some shopping). Lucy tirelessly continued to raise her children and work and make a happy home.
Eventually, Lucy made a career change and began working for Fluke Manufacturing Company where she was employed for the rest of her working years. There she met and fell in love with Bruce Biddlecome. They married on October 4th, 1991 and bought a house together and settled in the Silver Lake area. This year would have been their 25th anniversary.
Lucy enjoyed cooking (she was famous for her lumpia), shopping (she was famous for that too), homemaking and spending time with family and friends. She enjoyed life. In 1996, she suffered a severe stroke but despite her many physical limitations she continued to be Lucy and lived life with grace and love with everything she had.
Lucy was preceded in death by her parents, Marcial and Adoracion Alano. Lucy is survived by her husband Bruce Biddlecome, her sisters Susan (Rey)Noceda and Adora (Cesar) Tiongco, her brother Mario (Theresa) Alano and her three children, Allan and Eugene (Jody) Santiago and her daughter, Evelyn (Troy) Weaver. And her grandchildren, Gabrielle Santiago, Parker Weaver, and Laylan Santiago.
Services will be held at Purdy and Walters with Cassidy located at 1702 Pacific Ave, Everett WA. 98201. Viewing will begin at 9 am, service at 11am and reception to follow. Please come join our family and help us celebrate the life of Lucita V. Biddlecome, beloved wife, mother, sister and friend.
