

Marian Pearl Faries, 77 of Marysville, passed away peacefully on March 19, 2011 in Arlington, WA. She was born on July 1, 1933 in Wilton, North Dakota to Alvin and Martha Zelmer. At a very young age, she and her family moved to Washington. Marian married Lester Faries on Friday, April 13, 1951. She graduated from Everett High School, Class of 1951.
Marian had many loves, music boxes she had collected over the years; her grandsons’ football, basketball and baseball games, even taking her own personal stats; Husky Football, for a while she was a season ticket holder; Elvis Presley, so much she had a son on his birthday; pinochle; stormy nights with wind and rain; and road trips to the Oregon coast.
Marian was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene; she was a resident of Marysville for 46 years. She was famous for making her special recipe Mud Pie on birthdays. Whenever anyone in the family was injured she would bring them a “Boo-Bear”.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lester Faries in 2007 and an infant daughter, Vicki Rae Faries.
Marian is survived by her children, Scott (Georgene) and Dan Faries; five grandchildren, Tara (Garrett) Viggers, Scotty Faries Jr., Joel Faries, Danielle (Doug) Bigelow and Caleb Faries; three great grandchildren, Judah, Gabriel and Scarlett Viggers; brothers, Gene and Rich Zelmer; nieces and nephews, Brian (Barb) Zelmer, Laurie San Cartier, Kim Mundy, Glen and David Covington, David and Jackie Zelmer.
