

October 25, 1931- June 8, 2016 Marshall Leonard Dorman, Jr. (Spike) passed away peacefully on June 8 with loving family by his side. He was born in Everett to Marshall L. Dorman and Clara Anne Jescke Dorman, the 1st of 3 children. Dad passion for aviation and fishing followed him thru life. As a junior in high school, he enlisted in the Navy while still in high school, pursuing Naval aviation. After graduation from Everett High he was off to boot camp. While serving as an aviation electronic tech, he applied for and was accepted to the US Naval academy. At that time Mechanical engineering was not offered for midshipmen, wanting to pursue an engineering degree, he was forced to leave the academy and complete studies at the U of W. While in school he worked for Boeing on the B-52’s moving from the wire shop to being a draftsman. Additionally, during this time he served in the Air Force reserve as a staff sgt. Upon graduation he accepted a Naval reserve commission as an EDO and retired after 35 years of service. His engineering career saw him start with the aerospace test lab eventually moving to the commercial plane division on the 747. In 1976 he moved the family to New Jersey after he accepted a position with RCA working on the Navy’s Aegis platform. After successfully Platform integration and launch, he brought the family back to the Seattle area, resuming work with Boeing until retirement after 26 years of service. In 1958, while pursuing Denise he was introduced to the Catholic church, which started his love of Christ which was evident in his life.
He is survived by his wife with whom he enjoyed his golden years, traveling and enriching, Mary Dee Dorman, his four children: Mary Ann, Catherine (deceased), Marshall (Shari), James (Barb), 7 step children: Bill, Gerry, Steven, Jane (Steve), Michael, Charles, Mary Ellen (deceased), 11 grandchildren, 12 step grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren. His sister Karen (Dave), sister in Law, Patty Low and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his 1st wife first wife Agnes Denise (1996) and his sister Shirley Waggoner
A funeral mass will be held, June 15, 2016 at 1030 am at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, 2619 Cedar St, Everett, WA 98201, by his good friend Fr. Joseph Petosa
