Phyllis was born June 30, 1922 to George and Esther Egert, in Peoria, Illinois. She attended Bradley University. There she majored in music, was a proud member of the Chi Omega Sorority, and met her husband, Fred. During World War II, Phyllis worked as a secretary at Caterpillar Heavy Machinery in Peoria, and upon Fred’s return from war, they later moved to Washington State. While Fred finished his education, Phyllis worked as a secretary at WSU. They then lived in Tacoma, and eventually moved to Everett in 1956. It didn’t take long for Phyllis and Fred to join Faith Lutheran Church, and for Phyllis to begin her service as church organist for 30 years. Fred and Phyllis established cherished friendships at Faith Lutheran. She also worked as organist, secretary/receptionist and eventually as Funeral Director at Cassidy Funeral Home. She retired from Purdy and Walter with Cassidy Funeral Home, after 25 years. Phyllis enjoyed her bridge club, shopping, and church. She loved music, singing, and was committed to her service to God. We will remember her for her love of her family, Cliffy, many friends, her strong will, and her beautiful smile.
Phyllis was preceded in death by Fred, her loving husband of 56 years. She is survived by her son Brian Webber (Debbie), daughter Patti Rodgers-Marette (Nick), grandchildren Jennifer Selders (Brendan), Blane Webber (Molly), Tracy Clifton (Sean), four great grandchildren, Michael, Henry, Grace and Bennett, and special cousins in Illinois. Phyllis also leaves her dear, loving friend and partner of 12 years, Cliff Carlson.
The family would like to thank Harvey and Maxine Brink of Adagio Adult Family Home, and the entire staff at Garden Court Retirement Community for all their loving care the last 18 months.
