Great to have such a grandpa -  always smiling, optimistic, joking, supporting.

Dick was a wonderful friend and along with his loving wife Helen we worked together as Democrats on many worthwhile projects. Dick was an honorable and witty man, he will be remembered and missed by all. 'Rosie Kosher'

I have known Dick Sanford as a casual acquaintance for 80 years. He was indeed honest, caring, intelligent, witty, as his obituary noted. His ready smile was sincere, and he took the time to really listen. We shared classes for 3 years at EHS. 
 I married the man who lived right next door to Dick.  As teens they shared many adventures as Sea Scouts.  
I worked with Dick on political projects.  His daughter Sandy and our daughter Nancy were friends at EHS.
   The world is a better place because this man led such a good, long and productive life. He left a loving family to carry on the high standards he set.  To Helen my love and prayers. Miss him, of course, but stand proudly to honor this truly good man.  He loved his family, his friends, his home town, and his country.  May God bless you all!

To the Sanford Family..We enjoyed our friendship with Richard as each year we were together for Mariner Spring Training.He always had a smile on his face and was always up to have a good time..We will miss him.Our thoughts and Prayers are with your family in your time of sorrow.

To Ed, Sandy and the Sanford Family.  Another outstanding father figure from our neighborhood and childhood has left us.  Heaven is a brighter place.  I have fond memories of your entire family. Dear Sanford Family ~ What a long, rich, and vibrant life Mr. Sanford led.  I became acquainted with both Mr. and Mrs. Sanford when their family hosted our EHS Foreign Exchange Student, Achim Roloff who was a friend of mine.  I always felt welcome in their home.

A true gentleman and a joy to serve with. Dick had what what we all strive for, a happy and fulfilling life.

To all the dear Sanford family members:  I am sorry for your tremendous loss of your loved one.  Dick was my youth sports coach and later in life he was my mentor and battalion chief in the Everett Fire Department. Your family also always welcomed me into your house on 24th street.  I have such fond memories of your wonderful family and especially of my good friend Ed.  You all had a significant impact on my life.  May you find strength in being together and comfort in what you see and hear in the celebration of Dick's life
