1947 - 2010
Ronald Eugene Finch, beloved son, husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend passed away on December 3, 2010. Ron was 63. Ron was born in Kansas City, MO to Boyd Eugene Finch and Velma Ruth Finch.
He moved with his family to Long Beach, CA when he was two. He was busy and happy throughout his school years. After enlisting in the Air Force and serving in the Vietnam War, he returned to marry Debbie. In 1978, seeking greater opportunity and quality of life, Ron moved his family to Everett, WA. Ron and Debbie were married 40-years, raised two amazing children together, and had endless adventures together.
As a husband and father, Ron was a rock - always present, unwaveringly supportive, and unconditionally loving. Ron was fiercely loyal and dedicated to enriching his family at every juncture, as he selflessly encouraged loved ones to pursue learning and passions. He was a kind and gentle father and grandfather, so very proud of his children and grandchildren. Ron's love came in all forms, often exchanging "I love you" for his own "be careful."
Ron's casual demeanor, patient optimism, tireless work ethic and sharp wit made him a respected leader and favored companion in every setting. Leading by example, anything worth doing was always done right and anything started was always finished. In all ways, at every turn and without any fanfare, Ron always put the interests of others ahead of his own. Life with Ron was rewarding and fun. He found simple humor in daily life and welcomed exchanges of studied banter.
Ron is survived by his mother, Velma; his wife, Debbie; son, Michael and his wife, Briana; daughter Crissie; and granddaughters Grace and Edison; as well as numerous cousins, nephews and nieces.
A service honoring his life will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, December 11, 2010, at Purdy & Walters with Cassidy, 1702 Pacific Avenue, Everett 98201.
In lieu of flowers, plea).se consider a contribution to the Providence General Foundation Children's Center (Everett, WA)
