

Tyson graduated from Snohomish High School, class of 1995 and Everett Community College with his Associate's Degree. As a youth he participated in the Snohomish County Western Games Association, enjoyed soccer, basketball and was involved in 4-H.
Tyson volunteered for three Fire Departments over his career, beginning with Snohomish Fire and Rescue District 4 at the age of 17, North Highline Fire Department and as a Captain at Getchell Fire District 22 for the past 5 years. Tyson was hired as a career Fire Fighter at Paine Field Fire Department March 19, 2001 where he had currently been serving for 12 years. He was a respected and valued friend as well as a Fire Service brother.
In 1998 Tyson started his own business teaching CPR and First Aid. Over the past 20 years Tyson was an instructor throughout Snohomish and King Counties, including both the Sno-Isle TECH Skills Center and the Everett Community College Fire Science Program.
He met his wife, Kirstin Sara Neff, April 2006 and they were married May 12, 2008. Their daughter, Samantha Lee, was born May 18, 2012.
Tyson is survived by his beloved wife Kirstin; daughter, Samantha; mother, Barbara A. Berg; father, Wesley H. Severe and wife, Carol L. Severe; sister, Sonja L. Stewart, her husband Tony, nieces Savannah and Allie; step-sister Carrie L. Gerrard, her husband Dave, nieces Paige and Moxie; step-brother Mike K. Severe, his wife Leeann, niece Hope; mother-in-law Bonnie L. Neff and Lenny E. Lay; sister-in-law Michelle N. Vanhulle, her husband Brian, niece Paige; uncle and aunt Leland C. Severe and Marianne; cousin, Scott Severe, his wife Tracy, second cousins Ryan, Ally, and Tyler.
Tyson’s family would like to express our appreciation to all family, friends and brothers in the Fire Service who have been a part of Tyson's life and the overwhelming support we have received.
