She was raised on the Southside of Chicago where she graduated from DuSable High School in 1942. It was in 1947 that Christine married George Edward Turner. They were blessed with six children; Fred Douglas, Claretta, Kozetta, Edward, Denise and Bernard.
Christine held the position of line supervisor at a plastic manufacturer for a few years.
Throughout Christine’s life she demonstrated a real zest for life and a tremendous love for her family and friends. She spent many hours at her beloved sewing machine. Cranking out a quick fashion piece was nothing for her. And then there was her love of bowling. Please understand it really was in the name of having fun but don’t underestimate her skills.
Cooking was her way to bring the family together for a good time. Everyone knew they could count on one of her incredible cakes and irresistible pies being showcased among the many prized dishes she would prepare.
On the morning of August 24, 2016, Christine started a new beginning with the Lord.
She was preceded in death by husband George Edward, children Fred Douglas Sanders, Kozetta Henderson, Denise Turner, five siblings and one grandchild.
Christine leaves to cherish her love and legacy son Edward (Carmen) Turner, Claretta (David) Woodbury, Bernard (Charlotte) Turner, thirteen grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.
Arrangements under the direction of Kenny Brothers Funeral Directors, Evergreen Park, IL.
