It is so hard to express the love and gratefulness one person can have for another. As my sisters and I talk about all of our favorite memories, it brings Dad back to us, and we can laugh, and cry and our hearts warm from those memories.  Dad was strict growing up, but never failed to let us know how much he loved us, maybe not in words, but in his actions.  He had a great smile, and a way to always make us laugh – especially when we were playing cards.  He loved my mom so much, that I learned how a good marriage should be – the give and the take.  He served his country with pride (we discovered that he was awarded five medals during his time in the Navy).  We will miss him dearly.

In loving memory to a wonderul Great Grandfather to me and an amazing Great-Great Grandfather to my daughter Baylie. We will never forget you and Baylie will forever charish the moments she was with you. Love you for eternity.

Such a wonderful man with a huge heart. Thinking of all of you during this time of sorrow as you remember and share loving memories.

My dad...I remember as a child thinking he was the biggest person I ever saw. As I grew up he was very strict and if my mom said "wait until your dad gets home" I was in big trouble. I remember going so far as to hide under a chair for hours so he wouldn't find me. As I got older, he expected me to always try harder and never quit. I hated it but now realize that he instilled in me these strong virtues that have shaped who I am. I never thought of us as rich or poor, but I never wanted for anything. He was a hard worker but when he was not working we had some great trips across the country or to northern Wisconsin. He loved to party and dance. He was a great dancer and I never could keep up with him. He was a devoted husband and father. I guess you can never appreciate someone truly until you realize you can never talk to them again. I'll miss his crazy mixed up language, his beautiful blue eyes and his smile. I'm glad I was with him at the end of his life and am happy he is at peace. Enjoy your next journey dad. I will miss you every day. Love you always.

I went to school with Don in White Lake, Wisconsin.  He was a dear friend.  May God bless the family in this time of of sorrow.
