My memory of my sweet aunt is and will always be that she always showed Love and would always say I love you! Thank you forever 


What can I share about my aunt Dorothy but that her inner beauty far surpassed her outward beauty, and georgeous she was!  As a teen I could not wait to board that Illinois Central to spend summers with my aunt and cousin Lorraine.  My aunt's gift of hospitality was always on full display as she and uncle Ted welcomed family usually journeying from New Orleans to vacation or to start anew in Chi-town.  No more suffering, no more pain auntie now that you're in the everlasting arms of  our Lord and King Jesus!

What can I say about my Auntie Dorothy. Although she was in Chicago and we were in New Orleans she was here all the time when I was growing up.

She was such a character and would keep us laughing the moment she came through the door until the day she would go back home. So sweet and caring. She always had a bit of wisdom to give you and of course she was the prettiest of all her siblings as she would let you know. 

God bless you auntie, may gods joy and love fill you up to overflowing because you deserve it. Rest my Queen it’s done . To my cousins and Uncle Thedo thank you for sharing her with us. There will never be another like her and I miss her. Your Auntie Ruthie wants you to know that she loves all of you and misses her sister but she is happy that she is free now. Gaynell and Alvin send their hearts and love to you guys as do I. Rest my beautiful Auntie and say hello to Rickey and Linda from us.God bless you.

And yes it felt that way… laughing to myself about all your little sayings you use to tell me .

Thank you for my favorite oatmeal and toast  as you used to sit and talk with me while you ate your grapefuit.

I believe in giving people their honor while they are alive! Accordingly,  as a teenager and during my frequent visits to Chicago as an adult, I took the time to show my Aunt Dorothy all the love in my heart that was specifically for her! 

After my mother (her sister) passed when I was 14 years old, my Aunt Dorothy was a sweet, gentle, balm for my heart. She said what she needed to say and did what she needed to do to make sure that I made it to the other side of the most painful period of my life.

Through my gratitude for her love and God's love, I felt honored to go to church with my aunt every time I visited her. Year after year, she would hold my hand as I wept sitting in the church pew. She knew how much I missed my mother and also knew how to console me! 

My Aunt Dorothy was an angel on earth. She was also a queen who only had good things to say about other people. She had an amazing ability to love people where they were. Her enormous, unconditional love for others set her apart. I am eternally grateful that I had the opportunity to comb her hair, feed her, and hold her hand during the final days of her life!

I have so many fond memories of my Mother n Love.  When first meeting her, she impressed me with her warm smile, spunky personality and affectionate hugs :).  Over the years we became very close! I remember all the fun times during holidays and special occasions, which I looked forward to because I knew she would be throwing down in the kitchen :).  She was a straight shooter, told you like it was and loved on you at the same time!  I will always remember her famous saying "I'm Dorothy and I'm gorgeous."  I will always cherish fond memories and keep them close to my heart!  Love and miss you, until we meet again!  Your Daughter n Love, Carol

Dorothy Little was a very spunky lady that had a  beautiful soul. I was one of her students  that  she taught phlebotomy.  She would also give me the challenging floors  to draw blood.  She would always say to me that in order to become the best blood drawer I had to be challenged. I never gave up and I remember what she said. And, eventually my skills got perfected and I did became one of the best phlebotomist in the group. She will definitely be missed along with her beautiful smile and spunky character.

We are extremely sorry for your great loss. God gave Dorathy a life gift of God. She lived such a wonderful life,  enjoyed her life with family received many blessings. She accomplished all her goals.  God knows what is best for her. He called her for eternal home. Where there is no pain, no more suffering. People up they are waiting for her to celebrate new life.
May God give you comfort and bring you peace.
