Elijah, affectionately known as “Egypt” was an avid athlete loving to participate in sports of all kinds. He loved softball and created a bond with friends that was lifelong. Aside from being a father of three sons, he was an established surrogate father to many of his sons’ friends and more. He definitely lived his life to the fullest. He covered a lot of ground through his journey of life. He was an absolute hilarious grandfather to 17 children. He was God fearing in his movements and free hearted to a fault. He needs to be a part of a person’s “coming up” if at all possible. Love, some people will never understand what that word means, because it’s an action, it’s genuine, it’s real, and Elijah Maxey was a great example of love.
He went home to be with the Lord on February 23, 2014 at 5:35 pm at Christ Hospital in the midst of so family members and friends begging him to stay.
