To the Scheuerell Family,

I worked with Frank at Huron Consulting Group.  Frank was an extremely smart, hard working man and I will miss him dearly.  I am so sorry for your loss.  My heart is deeply saddened to learn of his passing just today when I tried to call him to see how he was doing.

I'm so very sorry.  My deepest sympathy as I didn't know of his passing until today.

I had the pleasure of working with Frank at Navigant. I'm deeply sorry for your family's loss.

There was no way that Frank and I could have avoided being friends!  We both were accounting geeks, working at FASB in offices across the hall from each other, and both from Chicago. (He did, however, have to forgive me for being a Cubs fan from the northwest side.) We traded theoretical accounting arguments, and he shared stories of his daughters growing up as we carpooled to the FASB offices. He was an honorable man.

I regret that we lost touch in recent years.  Last time we talked I was standing at the base of Vail Mountain, and my cell phone rang.  Surprise, it was Frank, and after we caught each other up on each other's lives, we discussed an accounting question.

Frank Sr., I don't know if you will remember me, but I picked you up from the Hartford Airport one time when Julie was ill.

To the Scheuerell family:  I worked with Frank at the Financial Accounting Standards Board.  Frank was a hard worker with a passion for accounting.  But what I will remember most about Frank was that he was always cheerful, quick to laugh, extremely proud of his family, and kind to everyone he met.   God Bless.

When I interviewed at HealthSouth, I posed the question, "...if it can be done...".  Frank leaned across his desk and, very passionately, corrected me, "...when it is done."  His knowledge, conviction, spirit, sense of humor and passion helped us all find the path to success.  My heart goes out to the Scheuerell family.  We have been blessed by Frank's time with us.

Frank was my study buddy when we were at Illinois State. Frank and I spent every night (including weekends)  studying together for our many accounting classes at Milner Library. I was also blessed to have Frank serve as an usher in my wedding. Over time, Frank and I became consumed by our careers and eventually lost touch. It had been a couple of years since Frank and I last spoke. So when I learned of his passing, I was shocked and deeply saddened. Frank, you were a wonderful friend, and I will be forever sorry and saddened that I did not have the opportunity to say goodbye.

Frank was a remarkable colleague and trusted friend.  He had a tremendous passion for his work and was always willing to help.  We worked together on several out of town projects and I'll fondly remember his passion in our many chats on topics ranging from Illinois State basketball to accounting theory.  Frank was also always considerate of others.  I'll forever appreciate his insistence on covering weekend duty at our client in the UK so that I could fly home to see my family.  Frank will be dearly missed by his many friends at Navigant.  My thoughts and prayers are with the Scheuerell family.

Frank, God saw you getting tired, so he put his arms around you and whispered “Come with Me”; we will miss you! May the comfort of God help your loved ones during this difficult and disappointing time.

Frank was an incredible man!  He loved his family, loved his FASB and was always a delight to be around.    He defines integrity, hard work and solid moral fiber!   He was and will be a continued inspiration!   The Lord is gonna know more technical accounting than he ever thought he'd know!   Rest in peace dear friend.

I only knew Frank for a short time at Callaway Partners and then Huron and in that short time he made a lasting impression as an accountant, business man, manager, but most of all a compassionate and caring person.  He will be missed. Barry Schwartz

My thoughts and prayers are with Frank's family.  Being so good at his craft earned him the nickname "FASB Frank" and being such a good soul earned him the friendship of many.  We will miss him.

Frank was only with Navigant for a few short years but he managed to have a very positive impact on all of us. He quickly moved from being a colleague to being a friend.  His accounting expertise was second to none and he was always willing to help others in client service. Frank had a passion for treating people with respect and had little patience for those who didn't do the same. He had a great sense of humor and there was much banter about his Blackhawks, Rangers, White Sox and Mets.  We will miss him dearly here at Navigant.  He fought his cancer hard and with dignity.  As difficult as it is to accept his passing it is much better than watching him suffer anymore.

My heartfelt sympathy and prayers to his family. I met FASB Frank on the Healthsouth restatement. For a time, I sat outside his office and we would often have brief exchanges. One topic was IU as his daughter was attending IU and I am an IU graduate. I enjoyed working for him on the Force Protection restatement. I last saw him in June 2011 in NYC when I was working on a project in NJ. He always expressed his appreciation to his teams.  He was a true professional and gentleman.  He will be missed.

My thoughts and prayers are with family and friends gathering to celebrate Frank's life. 

Frank was a tremendous man who I was fortunate to have known as a friend and business partner. 

I spoke with Frank prior to his recent trip home to Chicago for the latest treatments. He was emotional while reflecting on our experiences in the many projects around the country and he was very thankful for all the opportunities he was given to use his skills and make a difference for his clients. He was thankful to have met and worked with so many great people. He was thankful for the positive impact all the opportunities had created for his family who he loved dearly.

I was fortunate to have had the chance to tell Frank what an amazing person he was and to thank him for being my business partner. As I reflect,  this conversation was a very special gift for me to connect with him after the years and in a way, say goodbye. 

One of my fondest memories with Frank was going to a NY Rangers hockey game with him while he lived in NYC. Great memory. 

We have lost a dear friend but he is in a better place now.

Frank was a kind soul whose Accounting knowledge could put anyone to shame.  He worked hard but always maintained a zest for life.  He's with his maker but he sure will be missed on this earth.  My thoughts are prayers are with his friends and family.

Frank was a true gentleman. He will remain a source of inspiration as he showed us how to fight against the odds with dignity. Frank and I started at Navigant the same day and that provided a common bond we often joked about. He was always willing to lend his expertise wherever he could. Frank was a great guy and a fellow Partner at Callaway Partners.  He and I both traveled to Atlanta and often had dinner together.  I always enjoyed his company and his sense of humor.  I last saw Frank in Washington in 2012 and he seemed so happy.  I will keep Frank and his family in my prayers.

Frank was the one most dedicated  and hard working professional I have known. He was also a great friend, teacher, and support to all of those who knew him. I consider myself fortunate to have known him.

Frank was the reason I joined Callaway Partners.  He was super technical, very focused and driven and alot of fun.  I loved every minute (almost) of working with him at Health South and Force Protection while at Callaway Partners and on various clients when we started with Huron.  He always provided strength and guidance to get through the tough projects - all the way to the end. I have always cherished our friendship and will miss him. Sending prayers and condolences to his family . . .

So sorry to hear about Frank's illness and death.  I had the pleasure of working with him at Force Protection in Charleston, SC.  Frank was an amazing fountain of knowledge regarding financial restatements, FASBs and all things SEC-related.  He will be sorely missed.

Frank was an inspiration to all of us who worked with him at HealthSouth. He certainly had one of the best technical accounting minds I've ever seen, but he also had a great sense of humor and was just a terrific guy to be around. The last time I saw Frank was when my wife and I had lunch with him in December 2011.  He had just relocated to New York and was thrilled with his new job.  He was on top of the world and that's how I'll remember him. My sincere condolences to his family and friends.  He will be missed by all of us who knew him and the White Sox have lost their most loyal fan.

Very sad to hear of Frank's passing. I spent 2008-09 working closely with Frank in Charleston at Force Protection. We achieved a lot under Frank's leadership to help that company survive. Sure will miss him. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends.

As Frank's assistant for only a short while, I had come to know what everyone else knew and that he was a sweetheart and an extremely good soul.  May he rest in peace.

I met Frank (or Frank-o as I called him) in 2004 at HealthSouth. I immediately admired his energy, strength and abilities, and it was clear to everyone that his knowledge of technical accounting was superior. He had a good, no, great heart, always willing to help others and offer advice to resolve the most complicated transactions. We went on to work together on several projects for Callaway Partners and Huron Consulting where Frank found himself mentoring and challenging me on various concepts and scopes, and even when we did not agree, it was always hard to say no to him because he wanted me to either “prove it” or “git-‘er-dun” (smile). I will miss his spirit. I think back to my last conversation with Frank a few weeks ago when he told me that he was in a pretty tough battle but he was “going to beat this thing”. I thought to myself then that it was just like Frank to say that… still so strong and larger than life. But I guess it was not be. My sincere sympathy and condolences go out to the family and close friends for the loss of such an uncommon man.

I worked with Frank at the HealthSouth restatement and we lived together in Atlanta working on the Novelis project.  Frank was the driving force behind the restatement of six years of financials at HealthSouth.  His knowledge of accounting earned him the name "FASB Frank."  We had some great times there.  I was able to visit with Frank a couple of times this year in NYC.  While he had a great attitude, he was struggling with his illness.  My sympathy to his family and friends.  He was just too young to be gone already.  He will be missed.

I spoke with Frank 3 weeks ago.  He was concerned about the new round of drugs not working, but he was strong.  He has his final reward, but will be missed by the many friends still here…

When news reached me yesterday of Frank's death, I was filled with a deep sadness. I first met Frank in January 2005 when he hired me at HealthSouth. Frank was not only my boss; he was my friend. There are no words to express the personal and professional loss I feel. I am sending a donation to the American Cancer Society in his name as an expression of my admiration and respect for him. My deepest sympathy to the family.

Frank and I worked together at HealthSouth where Frank led the assembly of the Super-K restating six years of financial statements.  We lived together in Atlanta working for Novelis.  Frank was great to work with and knew everything about accounting earning him the name of "FASB Frank." He was a delight to work for.  I saw him two times earlier this year in NYC where he was valiantly fighting his lymphoma.  My very best to his family at this difficult time.  Frank is just too young to be gone.  We will all miss him.

I was a contract worker at Navigant in New York and enjoyed talking with Frank about our favorite team, the Chicago White Sox. He was a true gentleman and my sincerest condolences go out to his family.

I had the pleasure of knowing and working with Frank for a little more than a year. He was a wonderful colleague to know, technically knowledgeable about many current topics affecting our field, while also possessing very good business instinct and insights. Frank was a true professional and very much a team player. His contributions will be missed, as well as passion for the Rangers and his sense of humor, all of which were wonderful attributes. Frank will be missed by us all -- and our hearts go out to the entire Scheuerell family. May he rest in peace. Sincerely,

To the Scheuerell Family - I had the pleasure of working with Frank for the past year.  In addition to admiring the strength of his professional accomplishments, I admire and will remember his good nature and sense of decency. His smile, especially when speaking of his days in Chicago, was memorable.  He and I were to go to a minor league baseball game this summer in NY when he was feeling well.  I promise that when I am there next, I will raise a toast to Frank.  Bless all of you and may the warmth of your memories of Frank always keep his spirit alive.
