Dr Maloney. I hope you are having a great time upstairs

Will always think of you foundly.

But you should have written a book about your schooling experience

Mr. Maloney taught home economics at McClellan School in the Bridgeport community in the 1950's. He also established the Able and Willing Club for students to excel in serving the school as well as develop personal skills. He brought my mother into the school to teach German weekly to the Able and Willing students. I have fond memories of learning to make perfect peanut butter and jelly sandwiches to operating a jig saw. Many years later our paths crossed when I became the teacher-librarian at LaSalle Language Academy and he was my district supervisor and, of course, he remembered me before I could say a word. He was amazing.

First met Dr. Maloney at Schurz H. S., then while working in District 2. Once again In Schools and Regions we worked on referrals together. Our last meeting was at Illinois Masonic where he held my hand with the biggest smile on his face, he was already fighting his dreaded Alzheimer’s at that time (3 yrs ago). RIP Dr. Maloney.

I worked with Mr. Maloney while he was the CPS Science Fair Scholarship Chairperson as well as serving in many other positions at CPS. He was a wonderful and kind person. May he rest in peace. Eternal memories

Dr Maloney was a wonderful co worker
& friend to me. Rest in peace my friend.

He help make my years at Schurz High School memorable. Class of 1978. Thank You!

Mr Maloney was a fond memory of my years at Schurz High School (77 to 81) He always had something funny or kind to say when he passed you in the halls. May he rest peacefully.

Mr. Maloney you were the kindest, most gentle man at Schurz High School. But you were no pushover! You made your presence known and were respected. It was not an easy job I’m sure but you made it yours. My high school years, 1973 - 1977 hold such fond memories for me and you are one of them. Rest peacefully dear one. Lita Hoover Class of 1977, Schurz High School.

I remember Jim very fondly from the time we worked together at CPS. I learned so much from him. He was the consummate class act, kept the trains running on time (as much as that was possible), knew where all the bodies were buried, and always had a laugh and a twinkle in his eye. He made some long difficult days more bearable, and I will never forget his many kindnesses. Rest in peace, Jim.
