Leo was the first of four children born to the late Leo Jackson Sr and Willie Sue Kirby in Lexington, TN where he received his early childhood education. He graduated from Montgomery High School in Lexington; TN. Leo went on to join the US Marine Corps.

Leo later went on to continue his education at Tennessee State University in Nashville, TN where he met the love of his life Geraldine. Leo and Geraldine were married on July 15, 1972.

Leo worked as a dedicated worker for over 20 years at Northwestern Memorial Hospital, where he retired. Leo loved to be surrounded by family, watch movies, eat different types of food especially cheeseburgers and enjoy life. He always kept a smile on his face and made others around him smile.

Leo lived a long and wonderful life until the Lord called him home on April 13, 2021 at Little Company of Mary Hospital.

He leaves to cherish his memories, a devoted family, sons Eric (Felicia) and Ronald; granddaughter Erikka (Terrell) ; grandsons Ronald and Eric Jr; great granddaughters MaKylah and MaKayla; brother Larry (Ruby), Campanella (deceased); sisters Deborah (Jerome) deceased, Arcanella, Betty; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other dear relatives and special friends.

In consideration of the safety of our guests and associates, Kenny Brothers Funeral Directors Funeral Home will adhere to the current gathering restrictions in the state of Illinois, which allow 50 or fewer guests at services. Proper social distancing must be practiced no outside food or drinks and all guests will be required to wear face masks at all times. Thank you for your cooperation.

Our most valuable assets and remarkable treasures are shared with Loved ones and with time many are securely tuck in our heart... Living in different States, limited time together, did not stop the heartfelt love distributed by Uncle Leo, his laughter, conversations and fun moments shared with Him & Auntie doing just that Always smiling,full of joy and encouragement as they were watching, His Faithful Son's, maturing into the man they are and the children children coming on the scene Amazing....But I can only Imagine The New level of Joy he's experiencing now in Glory meeting the Master of Creation & Auntie smiling Face... It's with an heavy Heart I'm Not going to say goodbye ...We'll see you on the other side of Glory..

The older we get the more we realize how to live life. The people in your life are your family. I will truly miss the times we shared together. But we he will live on in the wisdom and the knowledge that he gave us.
