

Matha gave her life to Christ at an early age. She started attending Outreach Missionary Baptist Church, where she became a member in 1992. She loved singing in the choir and she continued to sing and praise God until the time of her passing. One of her favorite songs was "Touch the Hem of His Garment". Matha met and married the love of her life, Gregory Lewis in 1982. To this union were born three beautiful girls. Lashonda, Chemeil, and Lashon Taray. They were inseparable. Holidays were very special, because the both loved to cook for everyone. Mom loved Tuttle the Turtle's (dad) shrimp paste. Matha was a dedicated home health caregiver. She loved taking care of others. She loved her girls and grandchildren very much.
She will be forever remembered and loved by: her husband Gregory Lewis: her three daughters: Lashonda, Chemeil, and LashonTaray(Eugene). Mother Albertean Gartley, Mother in-law Annie Rose Lewis, Six sisters: Dorothy, Diane(David), Debra (Sonny), Ericka(Micheal), Rose, Tiwana. Two brothers: Clifton, Tracy. Nine grandchildred: Andrew, Joshua, Josiah, Breanna, Antianna, Antoine, Twins: Anansi, Ariyan and Darrian. Her God sister Doris Hardy and best friend Connie Jones. She truly loved her in laws and a host of relatives and friends. Her memory will be cherished and her spirit will live forever.
