

Robert “Bob” M. Dempsey, 78 died Sunday July 26, 2015 at St. Josephs Hospital in Mishawaka, IN. Bob was born in Chicago, IL to the late Jerry and Agnes (Nee) Degnan Dempsey. He served in US Navy during the Korean War. He was a Captain on the Chicago Fire Department with 34 years of service, retiring in 1995. He was a 50 yr member of the Chicago Fire Fighters Union Local 2, Knox, IN VFW and the American Legion. He spent his retirement years at his home at Bass Lake, IN and his home in North Fort Myers, FL. He is survived by his wife of 53 years Mary Anne (Nee) Bourke Dempsey, two sons Robert (Elizabeth) Dempsey, of Mount Prospect, IL, David Dempsey of Chicago and the late Lawrence (Tina) Dempsey of Crestwood, IL. He is the proud grandfather of 7 Luke, Jeremiah, Rebecca, Joe, Jessica, Kathleen and Patrick. He is also survived by his brother Michael (Sandy) Dempsey, of New Lenox, IL and his sister Laverne (James) Fogt, of Warrenville, IL and numerous nieces and nephews. He was proceeded in death by his brothers: Jack (Eleanor) Dempsey, Jerry (Denise) Dempsey, Edward (Gertrude) Dempsey.
