

Barbara Deloris Boggs, age 75 Of Dayton, passed away on Thursday, September 10, 2015 at Grandview Medical Center. She was born the daughter of J.D. & Mary Lou (Bunn) Burt on March 29, 1940 in Aniston, Alabama. She is preceded in death by her parents and brother Jerome Burt. Barbara is survived by 1 daughter Tammy (Michael) Brock of Kettering; 5 sons Brian (Olga) Sassaman of California, Steven Sassaman of Kettering, Mark Sassaman of Dayton, John Morton of Dayton, and Darice Spurlock of Fairborn; grandchildren Autumn, Hailey, Joey, Sandra Ballew, Abby, Jesse, Charlie Sassaman, Hunter, Darice Spurlock, and Justice Sallee; A dear friend that was as close as a sister Jeannie (Harlis) Combs; and a very “special” friend of over 24 years Ron King. Barbara was a kind and giving woman. For many years she fed the less fortunate of her community by running the Sunshine Girls Food Pantry out of her home. Barbara worked with African refugees who came to the city of Dayton looking for a better life; she was very kind and loving toward these individuals. More than anything Barbara enjoyed finding a great bargain. She enjoyed finding treasures at local thrift stores in the area. She had a fondness for animals of all kinds, for many years she was the owner and operator of “Happy Pets” where she was known for having a large variety of reptiles. Barbara was a loving mother, grandmother, and friend. She will be missed by all of those who love her. “Irish Blessing” May the road rise up to meet you. May the wind be always at your back.
