Burl was born in Cincinnati but grew up in Fairborn, Ohio, where he made lifelong friends and countless memories. A devoted father, cherished grandpa, proud veteran, and the undisputed #1 Bengals fan, he dedicated his life to his family, his country, and his beloved team, cheering them on through every season - win or lose.
A proud American, Burl was deeply patriotic and always showed his support for those who served. After serving honorably in the U.S. Air Force, he carried his love for his country with him every day. He found joy in the simple things, like sitting & watching his birds - a pastime that brought him peace and happiness. His loyal dog, Sabo, was his constant companion through life’s ups and downs.
A natural jokester with a quick wit, Burl always kept those around him laughing. He was the middle sibling, with an older sister, Peggy, and a younger brother, Edward, a role he embraced with equal parts mischief and heart.
Burl was preceded in death by his parents, Dorothy and Bearl, and his loving daughter, Donna. He leaves behind his son, Daryl; his adored grandchildren, Isaiah, Bryanna, Roger, Ethan, Johnathan, and Kaylee; his sister Peggy; his brother Edward. His family and friends will forever miss his humor, warmth, and unwavering team spirit.
