Carmen Emma Lyons

Mrs. Carmen E. Lyons (Keeney) died peacefully in her sleep on Friday August 15, 2025 at her daughter’s home in Cocoa, Florida. Carmen was the daughter of Lester and Marjorie Keeney and was the oldest of 5 children, with two surviving sisters, Marinelle Teasley and Beth Milling.

She was a graduate of Fairborn High School, class of 1956.

Carmen was married for 33 years to the love of her life James A. Lyons Jr., who predeceased her in December 1990. Her daughter Deborah Michaelson also predeceased her in June 2019. She is survived by her son James A. Lyons III (wife Deborah) and daughter Leslie Winslow (husband Roger), 4 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Carmen enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was an avid reader and enjoyed old movies and British Dramas.

Carmen will be missed by all who knew her.

A graveside service will be held at Byron Cemetery in Fairborn, Ohio on Saturday August 23rd at 11am. She will be laid to rest next to her beloved husband Jim.

In Lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Carmen’s memory to the American Cancer. Society.
