Mrs. Christine Dagnan

April 15, 1939 – March 10, 2026

Christine Dagnan, beloved mother, grandmother, and sister, passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of love, devotion, and family.

Christine was born on April 15, 1939, in Letcher County, Kentucky, to Bryan and Della (Griffie) Back. She grew up surrounded by family and the values of hard work, faith, and compassion that would guide her throughout her life.

On January 8, 1960, Christine married the love of her life, James Dagnan. Together they built a life centered on family and went on to raise two children.

Christine was preceded in death by her devoted husband, James Dagnan; her parents, Bryan and Della Back; her six siblings, Vincent Back, Lela Halcomb, Roger Back, Lena Collins, Lynn Cornett, and Joanne Boussum; and her beloved grandson, Matthew Pettit.

She is survived by her loving children, Sherri Lynn Pittman and Jim (Amy) Dagnan; her sister, Sue Shaver; and her cherished grandchildren, Brandi Pettit (Jamie), Alicia (Dagnan) Cody Davis, Ashley Dagnan, and LCPL Justin Dagnan; her five great grandchildren, Angel Boone (Steven), Austin Boone, Olivia Pettit, Audrey Pettit and Layla Davis; and her great-great grandson, Nylan Bocock. Christine also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews extended family and friends who will fondly remember her kindness, strength, and the deep love she had for her family.

Christine will be remembered for her warm heart, her devotion to those she loved, and the quiet strength with which she lived her life. Her memory will live on through the many lives she touched.
