She was born Jan 26, 1947, in Lubbock, Texas, to her late parents, Billy James and Zelma (Roberts) Adair. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bernard C. Brinson.
She is survived by William L. (Darcy) Brinson, Toledo, OH; Jerry L. Brinson, Chester, MT; and Jeffrey S. (Christine) Brinson, Tipp City, OH; 2 sisters, Sandra Dicke, Uvalde, TX; Donna (Randy) Schuster, Utopia, TX; and her grandchildren; Aumri K. Brinson, Windsor, CO; Justin S. Brinson, Tipp City, OH, and Lilly M. Brinson, Tipp City, OH.
DeLana worked many different jobs and owned her own home cake bakery business for years. She ultimately retired from her position as a secretary at Dlubak Glass Company, in Upper Sandusky, OH, before moving to Tipp City to be closer to her grandchildren. In 2020, she relocated to TX to be closer to her sisters and spent her last few years in a place she always considered home to her. She loved to play pool and could hang with the best of them. She supported multiple veterans organizations by donating her time and effort to their cause. She was a lifetime member of AMVETS POST 777 and longtime member of the ELKS Lodge, both located in Upper Sandusky. Delana was a dedicated mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend to all that had the honor of knowing her. Her witty personality and infectious smile will be greatly missed by all that had the pleasure of knowing her.
Visitation for family and friends is 12:00 to 1:00 pm on Saturday at Burcham-Tobias Funeral Home, 119 E. Main St., Fairborn, OH 45324, with service beginning at 1:00 PM. Private burial will take place at a later date where she will be laid to rest with her late husband in the Dayton National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, cash donation contributions for the VFW may be made at the visitation or donations may be sent in DeLana's memory to VFW Post 4615, 121 E. Main Street, Tipp City, OH 45371.
