Donald spent his entire 76 years in Fairborn and is a true-blue Fairbornite! Donald was a kind, compassionate and loving person who cared about others more than himself. He mentored numerous young people during his life and has received exceedingly kind words from those he helped along the way.
Donald received his GED in 1968 and immediately began a career in the grocery business. He spent his early years with the Kroger, Stumps and Liberal chains…in addition to the W.P.A.F.B. commissary before making the transition into the convenience store industry. He worked in management for several major stores…with his last 33 years being spent with the Circle K brand in Xenia, Ohio. Donald truly loved his work and those people around him that made “his” store a success story every day.
Donald retired a few years ago and became an avid walker…sometimes covering up to seven males a day! Donald also spent some of his leisure time watching horses race. Donald would place and occasional bet…but he really loved the horses and watching them run. For a few years in Donalds life, he was a horse owner. He never trained a big-winning horse and would remind me always “be careful about investing in something you have to feed every day!”
Donald was preceded in death by his father Joseph Phillip Hall, beloved mother Dorothy Beatrice (Goggins) Hall and older brother Larry Byron Hall and his wife Colleen (Donnity) Hall.
Donald is survived by his younger brother Barry (wife Susan) of Keller, Texas, three nieces and a nephew-Corryn Hall (husband Steven Gorski) of Stafford, Virginia, Adriene Henning (husband Robert) of Frisco, Texas, Alyse Hall of Irving, Texas and Jason Hall (wife Robyn (Tierney) Hall) of Frisco, Texas. Donald is also survived by four grand nieces and nephews as follows-Theodore and Arbor Henning and Parker and Olivia Hall, all from Frisco, Texas.
