Dorothy Ann Griffith

GRIFFITH, Dorothy Ann age 76, passed forward at home in Fairborn on Monday, September 25, 2017. She was born at Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton, OH September 25, 1941 to Johanna and Alfred Diederichs, legal immigrants from Germany. Except for 10 years in Leeds, Alabama, she was a lifelong resident of Osborn / Fairborn. She graduated Osborn Bath High School, became a licensed beautician and worked at Iris’s Beauty Shop. After health issues debilitated her parents, she devoted her life to their care first at home, then in local nursing homes as an Aide, then as Activities Director. After her parents passed, she worked as the secretary at Trinity United Church of Christ for 16 years and was the Ladies of Trinity, Treasurer. She was a patriotic 1st generation American and a smart, kind lady ready to help others in any way. Dorothy is preceded in death by her husband Paul Griffith, her parents, and niece Charlene “Dee Dee” D’Arrigo. Dorothy is survived by her only brother, Henry A. (Ardeth) Diederichs, M.D.; nieces, Siri Guru Nam Kaur Khalsa and Katrina Diederichs, RN; nephews, Mark (Karen) Diederichs, Eric (Anna) Diederichs; nephews-in-law, Siri Didar Singh Khalsa, Daniel D’Arrigo; 5 grandnieces; 5 grandnephews; 2 great-grandnieces in the U.S.A.; cousins in California, Arizona, Germany and Sweden. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 11, 2017 at 10:00 AM at Trinity United Church of Christ, 821 N. Central Ave. Fairborn, OH 45324 with Pastor Gene Cline officiating. A graveside service will follow at Byron Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to The Ladies of Trinity to support their projects.
