Edward T. Hank Jr. age 65 of Fairborn passed away on Thursday, May 14, 2020 at Hospice of Dayton. He was born the son of Edward Thomas Hank & Dorothy Runyon on December 6, 1954 in Brooklyn, New York. Ed is preceded in death by his father & step father Robert Runyon. He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years Eleanor (Martinez) Hank of Fairborn; mother Dorothy Runyon of Arizona; son Matthew Joseph (Janine) Hank of Florida; daughter Maureen (Nathan Byrd) Hank of California; sisters Jannine McGlothlin & Dorothy Riess; brothers Gerard (Barbara) Hank, Jonathan (Jeannie) Hank, Andrew (Andrea) Hank, & Paul Hank; grandson Gabriel Hank. Ed was a member of The United States Air Force, proudly serving in Thailand during the Vietnam War. After retirement from active duty, he continued serving the country as an Air Force contractor for over 20 years. Ed was a 26-year attendee of Rona Community Church, as well as a member of the American Legion & the Fairborn Lions Club, where he served in numerous capacities, including President. Ed and his wife founded Moses’ Mission, which is an annual feeding program in remote areas of the Philippines. In his spare time he enjoyed giving back to his community. One of his favorite events he looked forward to every year was the Fairborn Community Thanksgiving Dinner, serving food to the needy at the Fairborn Senior Center. Ed was a child at heart and enjoyed watching cartoons, especially Despicable Me & Minions. Ed was an animal lover, as well as a true "lefty"; a poet & artist. Everything was a canvas to him, often times you could find him drawing pictures on napkins or paper plates at the kitchen table. Ed was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend. He will be missed by all of those who love him. Friends may call on Friday, May 22, 2020 5PM – 7PM at Rona Community Church, 1082 Rona Pkwy Drive, Fairborn, Ohio 45324, where a funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 23, 2020 at 10AM with Pastor Jim Smith officiating.
