She moved to the Dayton area in the 1940’s and she worked at Wright Patterson Air Force Base, Univis Lens Co., and supported a variety of worthy causes. She settled in Enon with the love of her life, Ken, whom she married June 21, 1952, and together they shared 33 wonderful years raising a special, loving family. Her devotion towards her family knew no bounds. Trudy was a loving wife, Mom and Grandma, a great friend, a bright spirit, and a genuine soul showing care and compassion to those around her and to those in need. Her zest for life and determination to help make this a better world for all around her and for the future generation is a testament to her legacy. Trudy will be lovingly remembered and treasured by her children, Jeff (Michelle), Jim, Joy Naar, Janet, Joseph, and John (Angela), as well as deeply missed by her six grandchildren, Ashley Langenderfer, Nicole and Amanda Naar, Kara, Jake and Kyle Langenderfer. Trudy will forever be remembered by a host of nieces, nephews and many other relatives and dear friends, along with her brother-in-law Harvey Langenderfer and sister-in-law LeAnn Langenderfer. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ken Langenderfer, on February 14, 1985; four brothers, Carl, Basil, Prentice and Hiawatha "Buck" Dyer; five sisters, Violet (Becham) McClure, Opal (Virgil) Lewis, Fannie (Woodrow) Perry, Juanita (John) Hammons and Grace (Lewis) Cox. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, May 31st, at 10:30am at Mary, Help of Christians Catholic Church at 954 North Maple Street, Fairborn, OH. Immediately following the Mass, a procession will depart for a burial service at the Byron Cemetery & Mausoleum located at 3256 Trebein Road just east of Fairborn off Dayton-Yellow Springs Road. The Family requests that in lieu of flowers, a donation in honor of Trudy’s memory be made to: March of Dimes, which supports research, leads programs and provides education and advocacy so that every baby can have the best possible start.

Hi Langenderfer family,
Your mom was my Godmother. And in my whole life, I could never not think of her as "Mrs. Langenderfer." She took her role in my life seriously, and she was the best at it. I'm pretty sure people think she spoiled me. And they would be right, she did. Hanging around your house when we were kids was awesome.

A fair amount of the man I am today is due to her influence. A little bit was direct and obvious, and a lot of it was through her influence on you, her children. My playmates.

Yours was a life in full, Mrs. Langenderfer. Thank you.

Dear Jeff, Joyce, Jim, Janet, Joe, John & families,

I am so sorry to hear about Aunt Gertie. She was so sweet & kind and I always enjoyed spending time with her. She was devoted to family and always made an effort to get to all of the Langenderfer gatherings - happy or sad. She was a special lady who made us all feel special too.

I wish I could be there to honor your Mom. And to see all of you! It has been so many years since all of the cousins were together! But I am thankful for all of the memories of happy, fun times and that we were all blessed with such incredible, loving parents. I know you will never quit missing your mom, but I hope it brings you all peace to know how much she was loved. And God bless my Dear Dad who is still here to love and hug in person. He is soon to be 94 years old. I know he too would send his love and prayers if he was able. Hugs to all of you and I hope life has been good to you.

Dear Langenderfer kids,
Your mother was like a second mom to us Hewitt's across the street. I am so sad for your loss. She was a fun lady. I really have way too many memories of her to write here, but for many years your home and your mother were a haven for me. I remember so well returning to Enon from college and always running across the street to visit her as quickly as possible to catch up. The Langenderfer home was always so bursting with energy and fun for me. I will miss her and cherish her with you.
My condolences,
Kate Hewitt
