James Allen Mehl

MEHL, JAMES ALLEN, age 92 of Springfield, passed away on Tuesday October 7, 2025. He was born on August 20, 1933 in Hamilton, Ohio to Milton and Mary (Knox) Mehl. On June 12, 1952 he married the love of his life, Joyce Amburgey and celebrated 68 years of life together.

James is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Joyce, his daughter Cindy, his son in law Don Garrett and his sister Rose. He is survived by his sister Cheryl Brock, his daughter Vikki (Dave) Hill and his son in law Scott Johnston. Also surviving are his grandchildren Aubrey, Dallas (Courtney), Benjamin (Rebecca), Casey, and his great grandchildren Jase, Wyatt, Ayden, Matthew, Levi, Lydia, Ella and Cora, and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

James worked at Fisher Body and later retired from Monsanto. He was a faithful member of the 1st Baptist Church in Fairborn where he served as a Deacon. He belonged to the Campers on a Mission and to Buckeye Builders.

The family will receive visitors on Tuesday October 14, 2025 from 10am to 11am at the Burcham Tobias Funeral Home, 119 E. Main St., Fairborn, Ohio. A Funeral Service will follow at 11 with Pastor Dave Hill presiding. Interment will be held at 11 am on Wednesday October 15, 2025 at Rose Hill Cemetery in Hamilton, Ohio.
