Josephine Adkins age 97 of Fairborn went home to her Lord & Savior Jesus Christ on Saturday, September 12, 2026, at Hospice of Dayton while surrounded by her loving family. She was born the daughter of Lonnie & Julie (Cantrell) Fyffe on June 24, 1929, in Paintsville, Kentucky. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband John Adkins in 2012; 2 sons Danny & Ronald Adkins; 2 sisters & 3 brothers. She is survived by her beloved daughter Donna Sue Adkins; sons Douglas (Shirley) Adkins; 2 daughters in law Vanessa & Tonya Adkins; 5 sisters; 1 brother; 11 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren & great – great grandchildren. Josephine was a faithfiul follower of Jesus Christ & was a longtime member of Enterprise Baptist Church. She was known for her down-home country cooking, especially her chicken and dumplings, & soup beans and cornbread. In her spare time, she enjoyed quilting, cleaning, & tending to her garden. Josephine was a loving mom, grandma, sister, & friend. She will be missed by all of those who love her. Friends & family may call on Friday, September 18, 2026, from 11AM – 12PM at BURCHAM TOBIAS FUNERAL HOME 119 E. Main St. Fairborn, Ohio where a funeral service will be held at 12PM. Interment to follow in Fairfield Cemetery.
