GORMAN, Leslie Nelson, age 89 of Kettering, passed away Monday, February 26, 2018. She was preceded in death by her former husband & father of her 6 children, David Nestor Gorman; parents, Kathleen Nelson Becker and Havelock David Nelson, a Major in 192nd Tank Battalion who died in the Philippines following the Bataan Death march ; and step-father, Cincinnati artist, Ray Becker. Leslie is survived by her children, Victoria Gorman Miller of Cincinnati OH, David Nelson Gorman (Becky ) of Woodstock GA, Kathleen Gorman Woolf (Mark) of Charlotte NC, Robert Ward Gorman (Tone) of East Dundee IL, James Havelock Gorman (Michelle) of Naples FL, and Elizabeth Ellen Gorman of Kettering OH; sister, Kate Taylor (William) of Indian Hill OH; son-in-law Norman Miller, 19 grandchildren, Andrew Miller, Matthew Miller , Emily Kalisz, Alex Miller, David Gorman, Chris Gorman, Carrie Gorman, James Gorman, James Woolf, Bradley Woolf, Victoria Gorman, Robbie Gorman, Katrina Gorman, Christopher Gorman, Alyssa Gorman, Sarah Gorman, Tommy Gorman, Jimmy Gorman, and Adam Gorman; and 11 great-grandchildren, Grace Miller, Rose Miller, Ethan Miller, Cora Miller, Tabitha Miller, Lucy Kalisz, Maggie Kalisz, Layne Gorman, Fisher Gorman, Grace Gorman, and Eleanor Gorman who was born in the last week of Leslie’s life. Leslie took great joy in her membership of the Kappa Alpha Theta sorority and also loved attending her high school reunions with classmates from Withrow High School. She retired from a fulfilling and successful career as a realtor and mortgage broker. After living in Cincinnati OH and Naples FL, Leslie moved to Kettering OH in 2012. She loved cats, babies, gardening, and the beach. Leslie’s family wishes to thank all of the kind and loving caregivers that provided her support, love and daily care during her final years. Leslie will be laid to rest next to her mother and step-father in the historic Armstrong Chapel Cemetery in Indian Hill. A graveside service will be held Saturday, April 21, 2018 at 2:30 p.m. at Old Armstrong Chapel Cemetery, Indian Hill, OH.
