Mary Ellen White

Mary Ellen White, age 92, of Springboro formerly of Fairborn died on Tuesday, October 14, 2014 at the Miami Valley Hospital. She was born the daughter of David & Frances (Sloane) Blankenship on August 31, 1922 in Pike County, Kentucky. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Walker White, sister and brother-in-law Josephine “Dimple” (Lon) Marcum, brothers Walter and Dewey Blankenship, nephew Virgil Marcum, and nieces Linda Kay Brown and Janet “Punkin” Daniels. Mary is survived by her son David (Susan) White, grandchildren Christina Lynn (Bryan) Frantz, Jennifer Louise (Toby Ballard) White, and Jonathan Walker White, great grandchildren Nathalie, Alexander, Dakota, and Madison, niece Francis (Gene) Jeffries, and special friend Ruth English. Mary was a longtime member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witnesses. She worked for Rike’s and Elder Beerman department stores and was a Rosie Riveter in Akron during the war. After the passing of her husband Walker she followed her dream and became a world traveler. Mary was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt and friend. Mamaw will be missed by all who love her. Friends may call at the Burcham Jennings Funeral home on Monday, October 20, 2014 from 11:00AM to 1:00PM where services will be held at 1:00PM with Brother Dewayne Jordan officiating. Interment will follow at Medway Cemetery.
