

He was born April 19, 1974 in Cincinnati, Ohio the oldest child of Dennis and Patricia. He attended Mariemont Schools and graduated in 1992. He grew up spending lots of time with his grandparents Jerry and Neva in Mt. Orab, Ohio. There he enjoyed pitching in at the family restaurant as a waiter, cook and just about everything and anything his grandparents asked of him. He married the love of his life, Toma on October 11, 2003. Together they created a beautiful family beginning with their first born daughter, Gillian Elizabeth Rose and then later added Faith Diona to complete their home. He was devoted to his work at HomeGoods in Miamisburg as an assistant manager.
Matt will be remembered as a creative, devoted, kind and gentle man who enjoyed everything that life had to offer. He loved experiencing the world through travel, especially Disney and his annual trips there with his family. He appreciated the arts and together he and Toma loved to go to concerts. He was also dedicated to ensuring his girls were exposed to these experiences through Broadway shows and local performances. In addition, he loved to collect everything from beanie babies to pottery. His hobbies included scrapbooking with his girls, baking them treats and watching reality television. Matt leaves behind his wife, Toma Ashmore and their daughters Gillian and Faith. In addition, his grandparents Jerry and Neva Hamilton, Mildred Ashmore, Larry Metz, his parents Patricia Wilson, Dennis and Kathy Ashmore, his brother Steven and his wife Megan in addition to his mother in laws Dottie Horton and Betsy Guehl. Preceding him in death were grandparents Ellis Ashmore and Jean Ann Metz.
A service of celebration in Matthew’s honor will be held Monday, July 31 at 7pm at Burcham Tobias Funeral Home, 119 E. Main St. Fairborn, Ohio. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 4-7pm.
