Mildred Evelyn Thompson

THOMPSON (ROSTOFER), Mildred Evelyn, 94 passed away Feb 22, 2015 at Hospice of Dayton. She was born September 27 1920 to the late Emory and Lena Belle (Horner) Rostofer in Huntsville Ohio. Mildred grew up in the Lakeview Ohio Area and graduated from Lewistown High School in 1938. Mildred headed for Columbus Ohio to attend Business College. She went on to work downtown at Dun & Bradstreet. Mildred married in 1951 and relocated to Fairborn in 1957. Mildred was full of life. She enjoyed sewing, knitting, and cross-stitch and was an avid bowler. She was a long time member of the Women’s International Bowling Congress (WIBC). She also enjoyed volunteering with the American Red Cross in the school clinic and Girl Scouts. Most of all, she enjoyed shopping and spending time with family and friends. She was “Grandma Millie” to her grandchildren and “Aunt Bee” to her nieces and Nephews. Mildred is preceded in death by her husband Dean Thompson; her parents Emory and Lena (Horner) Rostofer; two sisters Mary Lucille (Rostofer) Huffman and Joan (Rostofer) Longfellow ; two brother in-laws William Huffman and Richard Longfellow; infant brother Emmett Rostofer; and one nephew Robert Longfellow. She is survived by her daughter Sharon Thompson, Fairborn Ohio, Grandson Jonathan Spiller, Dayton Ohio, Granddaughter Jessica Maiorano, Huber Heights and Great Granddaughter Jordyn. Nieces and Nephew; Lynda (Huffman) Jackson, Charles (Janalou) Longfellow and Nancy (Ron) Leonard. Also great nieces and nephews Maridean, David, Bonnie, Amy, Erin and Jonathan. Mildred was a very lovely, sweet lady and adored by many. She will be missed. The family wishes to extend thanks to Hospice of Dayton for the gentle care they provided.
