

Owen B. Dervin age 88 of Fairborn passed away on Sunday, January 12, 2014 at Emeritus Fox Run. He was born the son of John & Florence Dervin (Burch) on May 24, 1925 in Philadelphia Pennsylvania. Owen is preceded in death by his parents, his sisters Joan Wilson, and Hope Gillespie, and brother Mark Dervin. Owen is survived by a sister Barbara Soltis of Hartboro Pennsylvania, and a brother Ted Dervin of Philadelphia Pennsylvania, and sister in – law Beverly Dervin of Fresno California, and numerous nieces and nephews. While working at Wright Patterson Air Force base he was proud to work as the F16 Configuration Manager. He was a longtime member of Mary, Help of Christians Catholic Church. He was a Past Grand Knight in the Knights of Columbus #3724, Past Faithful Navigator in the Monsignor Buckley Assembly #0822. He was also a member of the Air Force Association, The Instrument Society of America, and a former member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles #2641. He was a graduate of Drexel University Evening College, and he enjoyed volunteering at the St. Vincent Hotel in Dayton. He will be missed by all who loved him. Friends may call on Friday, January 17, 2014 5PM to 7PM at Burcham Jennings Funeral Home, 119 E. Main St. Fairborn, Ohio. At 6:30 the Rosary will be prayed by the Knights of Columbus Council 3724. Mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, January 18, 2014 at 10AM at Mary, Help of Christians Catholic Church, 954 N. Maple AVE Fairborn, Ohio with Rev. Charles F. Lang, Celebrant.
