During his youth, Ricky's heart belonged to sports. Evenings were dedicated to the baseball diamond at Ernie Apt Field, and he proudly participated in the Wee-Hawks football league. His prowess earned him the moniker Ricky 'Rolling Thunder' Baer. At the age of 11, transverse myelitis struck, rendering him paralyzed from the waist down. Despite this profound challenge, Ricky, with unwavering determination, continued to embrace life from his wheelchair. In high school, he showcased his spirit as the kickball team's pitcher, always wearing a radiant smile and maintaining a positive outlook. Ricky cherished his role as an uncle, relishing moments spent with his family.
In 2005, Ricky graduated from the Ohio School for the Deaf. His educational journey continued at Sinclair Community College, where he earned an Associate's Degree in Visual Communications.
Ricky is preceded in death by his grandparents, James and Elma Morgan, Max and Nellie Baer, as well as his aunts, Sophia and Helen Baer. His loyal service dog, "Star," also preceded him.
He leaves behind his loving parents, Richard and Rhonda Baer, his two sisters, Richawna Baer and Roxann Baer, and three nephews, Andrew "AJ" Angeletti, Antonio "AC" Angeletti, and Orion Veta. Ricky is also survived by aunts, uncles, cousins, and a multitude of friends who shared in the joy of his remarkable spirit.
