Roger Dale Taflinger

TAFLINGER, ROGER D., age 77 of Fairborn, Ohio passed away on Sunday October 29, 2023 at his residence with his wife by his side. He was born on August 31, 1946 in Danville, IL to the late Richard and Flora (Coffee) Taflinger.

On August 12, 1977, he married Marilyn K. Shambrook, and she survives in Fairborn.

Roger served in the United States Air Force from August 1966 to February 1968. He was a member of the American Legion

Besides his wife, he is survived by his children, Virginia, Tricia and Cynthia, his 12 grandchildren, Alyssa, Jessica, Kaylee, Tyler, Devin, Erik, Ashley, Catherine, Amy, Kristi, Kate and Melanie, and his 15 great grandchildren, Noah, Hannah, Cheyenne, Aliannah, Calyanne, Wyatt, Lenox, Aizen, Axton, Allexis, Lukas, Isabella, Cody, Sophia and Samuel. His sister, Virginia Drollinger also survives, along with several nieces and nephews.

Roger worked for the Army Air Force Exchange at Chanute AFB in Illinois and at Wright Patterson AFB in Fairborn. He retired on August 31, 2012. He also worked in Maintenance and Carpentry.

He was well known in the area for the Sports Lighthouses and Candy Bowls that he made.

Services for Roger will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
