

Minnie Darlene (Fields) (Mitchell) Carlisle, 68, of Louisiville,KY entered into rest on Saturday April 26, 2025. She was preceded in death by her devoted husband of 33 years, Douglas Carlisle; parents, Joe and Laura Fields; daughter, Brandy Lei Mitchell; brother, Joe D. Fields; granddaughter, Johana Coleman; nephew, Alan Fields.
She is survived by her son, Justin Mitchell (April) and daughter, Niki Christiansen (Paul); sister, Beckie Buskill; sister-in-law, Sue Fields; grandchildren, Katy, Brandyn, Mackenzie, Alex, Cody, Ve, Moriah; 2 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews and other extended family.
She was a lifelong Christian school teacher at various Louisville schools including:

Christian Academy of Louisville – Southwest
Portland Christian School
Minnie graduated 2nd in her class at Fairdale High School (class of 1974). She continued her studies at the University of Louisville where she completed both her Bachelors and Master Degrees in Education while achieving a minor in mathematics and a lifetime Pre-K through grade 8 teaching certification.
In high school, she was a member of the Fairdale Drill Team, coached Junior High cheerleading, sang in the Fairdale choir & was on several committees. She was also crowned Miss Drill Corps during her Senior year. She later choreographed and coached drill teams at several schools and directed her own independent team called, “A Step in Time”.
She was very devoted in church teaching Pre-school Sunday School, taught Children’s Choir, sang in the Adult Choir & was the Director of VBS programs for over 10 years.
Minnie was a devoted Christian and directly responsible for leading many children and adults to Christ.
She leaves a legacy of selfless giving and lives touched.
Her funeral service will be held on Monday May 5, 2025 at 1 pm at the Fairdale – McDaniel Funeral Home, 411 Fairdale Road with Burial following in Mt. Holly Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Sunday from 4-8pm at the funeral home. There will be a celebration of life held in late May or June in Paducah, Ky for all her family and friends in Western, Ky
