Nannie Marlene Rennirt

Nannie Marlene Mitchell Rennirt, 83, passed away on Monday, October 20, 2025.at UK Albert Chandler Hospital in Lexington, Ky with her family by her side. A beloved family matriarch, born in Twila, Harlan County, Kentucky on April 25, 1942. She is an avid U of L Sports and HGTV Fan, member of the Fairdale Chapter of the Order of Eastern Star and Valley Station Baptist Church. She was an Administrative Secretary with Jefferson County Public School System. She was preceded in homegoing by her parents, George E. and Cora Lee Mitchell; her sibling’s, Dr. Edmond Mitchell, Gloria Maddox (Edward) and Barney Mitchell (Judy) and great granddaughter, Mercedezes Dawn Tuttle. Survived by daughters, Sharron Bell (Kevin), and Ellen Renae Vardeman; grandchildren, Shelby Tucker (Terry); Steven Rennirt (Taylor), Cory Bell (Bree), Cody Bell (Kayla) and Bryce Vardeman; great grandchildren, Bentley, Brock, Chase, Corbin, and baby girl on the way. The Funeral Service for Marlene will be held on Friday, October 24, 2025 at 12noon at the Fairdale – McDaniel Funeral Home, 411 Fairdale Road with Entombment to follow in Evergreen Cemetery. Her visitation will be held on Thursday, October 23, 2025 from 2- 8pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to St. Joseph’s Indian School.
