He was retired from Dean's Milk Co. after 35 years of service and was a member of the Teamsters 783.
Preceded in death by his wife, Doris.
Survived by his children, Donnie Skaggs (Julie), Debra Ward (Michael), Zeke, Marty and Buck Skaggs (Allison); seven grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Fairdale-McDaniel Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 411 Fairdale Road, with burial in Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be 1-8 p.m. Wednesday and after 9 a.m. on Thursday until time of service.
